The Start the Heart Foundation went to Western Middle School in Louisville, KY and taught 115 7th grade students hands-only CPR today.  The entire 7th grade student population at the school was taught hands-only CPR.  These teens were very enthusiastic and did a wonderful job.

Western Middle School is located in an area of Louisville with a high rate of cardiac arrests.  Start the Heart Foundation is focusing it’s efforts at trying to teach hands-only CPR in these highest risk areas.IMG_1859

80% of the time that a person suffers a cardiac arrest it is in a private residence.  This forces lay people to act in a medical fashion.  It also means that if you are performing CPR on a cardiac arrest victim.  That victim will likely be somebody that you know or love.  Everyone should know this lifesaving skill.

Start the Heart Foundation offers hands-only CPR classes at no cost and can be taught in 30 minutes.  If you are interested in having a CPR class please contact us.
