The mission continues. Teach hands only CPR to as many students as possible.

June 3, 2014 by William Dillon

Our STHF cardiac arrest interns continue to teach as many Jefferson County Public School student as possible prior to the students finishing the school year.  We have spent 3 days teaching hands only CPR to students at Newburg Middle School in Louisville, KY.  We have found that the hands only CPR “Be the Beat” video is very effective for the younger students.  In addition we have had CPR relays which have been popular. Newburg students

Today, we taught graduating seniors at Ballard High School in Louisville, KY.  For the older high school students we showed the British Heart Foundation’s hands only video featuring Vinnie Jones.  The students loved it and asked to see it a second time.

It has been a great start for the foundation in these first 3 weeks.  We have taught over 1,000 people hands-only CPR in that time period.  We will continue pushing forward for the remainder of the summer.  If you are interested in signing up for a CPR class contact us through the website.
