STHF hits the Southwestern Jefferson County hard teaching hands only CPR

March 28, 2015 by William Dillon

Our foundation works closely with Louisville Metro EMS.  They have an incredible database that tracks the cardiac arrests in Jefferson Co.  We know where the people are dying.

NO BYSTANDER CPR BY ZIPSomeone asked me the other day if we were profiling where we teach CPR.  Heck yes we are.  We are following Sutton’s law. (Willie Sutton was a famous bankroller in the 20th century.  When asked why he robbed banks he replied, “That’s where the money is.”)

Yesterday we were teaching at 2 high schools, Valley and Southern HS, which are both located in southwestern Jefferson County.STHF 2015-03-27 at 08-34-46 (2)_HDRThis area is one of the highest risk areas in Louisville.  Thank you to the great teachers and students who allowed us to come into their classrooms and teach them hands only CPR for free.  The hands on nature of our classes is unique and engages the students.

STHF 2015-03-27 at 08-08-32I was fortunate to be able to cover the Valley HS class taught by 2 of our most experience instructors; Alexandria O. and Kayla K.  We have been blessed to have these 2 teach hands only CPR for the last year.  They are committed and as good as any instructors that I have ever seen.  Great watching the pros at work.  It was a good day.
